This is West Wales, so we do a lot of sheep work. Equally, there are a lot of cattle on the hills around here, and a nucleus of thriving dairy farms. We are professionally driven to aid the farming industry to produce its best, right here on our doorstep.
The key aspect of Ystwyth Vets is that we are local, and close to you. We are available 24 hours, seven days a week, and can guarantee to provide two of our experienced team of vets on call, in order to respond to emergencies as quickly as we can.
Ultimately, our goal is to have healthy animals in the food chain with minimal drug intervention, by working with clients on disease prevention. Health plans, routine visits and farmer meetings are all tools at our disposal, and we are keen to implement them as widely as possible.
Optimising reproductive parameters and minimising the occurrence of disease such as lameness, mastitis & pneumonia and saves money and cuts costs. Monitoring schemes and control measures are available for diseases such as BVD, IBR, leptospirosis & Johnes. Contact our vets to find out more.
Parasite control is central to sheep flock health, and monitoring using the FECPAK system is now available at the practice. Knowing when to strategically treat for parasites based on faecal worm egg counts can greatly reduce the use of drugs, saving money and reducing resistance pressure on these drugs. Do call the surgery and talk to our vets for more information.
